ABOUT THE CLEM7
Clem Jones Tunnel (CLEM7) links five existing major motorways and arterial roads on the north and south sides of the Brisbane River. The 6.8 kilometre tollway includes twin, 2–lane 4.8 kilometre tunnels.
Tolls are collected through a fully electronic tolling system that identifies motorists using the tunnel via an electronic tag fitted inside their vehicle or by taking a photograph of their number plate.
CLEM7 is the first section of the new M7 motorway in Brisbane. The M7 is due to be completed in 2012 following the construction of the 6.7km Airport Link tunnel, which will provide a direct connection from the CLEM7 to the Airport and the growing northern suburbs.
Brisbane Motorway Services (Pty Ltd), which is a Leighton Services and Bilfinger Berger Services Joint Venture, has been engaged to maintain the CLEM7 during the concession period.
